It’s often worth instinctively stopping when you see something that isn’t immediately parsable. We were on our way to the Rockies when we saw this sign:
We met the Pastor (see below video) who was very friendly and explained that it was for those who felt more at home with a more cowboy-friendly service.
I’ve categorised this as a minor difference, not just because the UK doesn’t have rancher/cowboy specific denominations, but because there are many, many more denominations in the US than there are in the UK. And they seem more active, bold and confident. Even tiny, village-sized cities of a few hundred souls can have several similarly named denominations of Lutheran churches to exactly express the nuanced differences in the beliefs of the inhabitants.
