Since we have really liked Arizona and it is basically head to head with Florida in the current runnings of where we want to live, we stayed yet another day. We caught up on editing and did still more swimming, but also checked out a few things near Scottsdale, including a park of sorts and the pyramid tomb of their first governor:
The next day, we didn’t take much footage, but there was a great pool party with the friendly people at our hotel. We were given free mango margaritas by a bartender who had just moved to the area and just wanted to share his booze and drink making skills.
We also got a surprise super moon at the pool. Arizona’s clear skies were the ideal viewing area:
We had been so busy having a great time, that it was only in our last hour in our last day in the Phoenix area that we realized it was the state capital. Naturally we had to go on our way out of town:
As we headed further west, the saguaros thinned out, but we were treated to a forest of the very exotic Joshua Tree:
We also managed to find a town called Nothing that is no longer populated. It has only become a ghost town recently:
Despite its one recent ghost town, Arizona is really a stunningly beautiful place and we have really enjoyed it. Even climbing up that hill in Scottsdale in 100 degree heat, given the low humidity, we barely broke a sweat. This is definitely a place to seriously consider.
