We spent most of the day in Charleston, South Carolina because it turned out to be absolutely fabulous and one of our top three cities so far. As soon as we got into town, we got some lunch. Everyone at this little café was incredibly welcoming and friendly:
Most people we spoke to very much liked living in Charleston, though unless you had a good job, it could be hard to afford. We made our way into the city center and it was extremely attractive and well maintained:
Something else that changed as soon as we got into Charleston was the plant life. We were honestly quite sick of the forest that seems to basically run from Maine to North Carolina (not that we hate trees, but we needed a change of scenery). We started getting some of this instead:
It also has some beach about 15 miles from the city, but given it was a Friday afternoon, we decided to press on.
