We had a proper look at Annapolis in the morning. It was a very lovely city, but there was one thing very wrong with it from our perspective. It is by far the most English city we have been to. It was lovely, truly lovely, but it had all the things that Americans find quaint that we don’t actually want to deal with on a regular basis any more like narrow, winding streets, preserved buildings and obvious codes of what you are allowed to do with your property that reminded me of things we had to do in England to live where we did. I am glad there are places that do preserve these things, but I don’t want to live in one again.
A few people recommended Annapolis to us, and I understand why, but if anyone knows of somewhere ultra modern, a bit like South Korea or Tokyo maybe, do let us know. We are more interested in living in and around something as new.
